war diary-day 15

20,000 people attended yesterday the funeral of Sean Carmeli, 21, a lone soldier who was killed in a clash with the Hamas in Gaza.
Sean grew up in Texas but decided to come back to Israel and to serve in the Army.
A soccer fan called people threw Facebook to attend the funeral because he knew that Sean has no family in Israel.
It was almost Midnight and all those 20.000 people were very quiet and sad. There were Jewish, Arabs, people from all over the country.

  1. What a tragic waste the loss of a 21 year old man is. How kind of so many people to attend his funeral.

  2. War is a very stupid thing on both sides people want to leave in peace . The governrnent send young guys to get killed easy , if the president were asked to go out and fight believe me there would be no war anymore.

  3. The tragedy of war is the senseless loss of life. As Anonymous said if the 'rulers' were expected to be on the battlefield perhaps a second thought might be given. One can only hope common sense reigns and a peace is brokered.

  4. I'm sure that the aggressions will soon end (at least from Israel). Unfortunately article 13 of the Hamas Covenant states 'There is no negotiated settlement possible. Jihad is the only answer'. What is Israel to do!
