Waiting for the Iranians. I bought a few bottles of water, I didn't buy a home generator, radio batteries, canned food or toilet paper. There are many people who have done this. I'll deal with whatever happens, I hope so. It might be the worst or it might be nothing.
For a week everything around was green and blooming, a week of 30 degrees Celsius dries everything and awakens us from the illusion that we are in another country. Everything starts to turn yellow.
And this is my garden which also has a bloom that is starting to disappear.
Your garden is beautiful. Sending love from Bellingham, Washington.
ReplyDeletethank you am Every kind word is very empowering here.
DeleteIf I had a Safe Room under the house, I would definitely buy tinned food, bottled drinks and batteries. But fearing the Iranians in the meantime will totally damage your peaceful life inside the house.
ReplyDeleteWill prayers for peace help? Probably not :(
I don't have a safe room at home, even with missile attacks I feel like Russian roulette, I wish I could believe in prayers.
DeleteI am sorry Yael, for the fading of your garden and for the ongoing uncertainty in your lives.
ReplyDeleteSometimes JajCee I am so sorry that my posts are not happy, but surprisingly in life here there are also happy things, just a little balance is missing.
DeleteSorry about the current upheaval. Your garden is lovely while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteI hope better days will come, the garden will also recover after a good amount of water.
DeleteAnd thank you Boud.
DeleteIn the world of blog I only talk of 'light' subjects, doesn't mean that is the limit of my thoughts, please know that my thoughts, prayers, and very best wishes are with you today and every day.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is/was absolutely delightful.
Thank you Elajne. I think you are doing wisely, I sometimes wonder about the urgent need of people to express an opinion on blogs, on sensitive political issues based on partial or false information. I was hurt by this quite a bit and tried to fight, and gave up recently when I realized that it is impossible to change positions in an argument.
DeleteWishing you safety and peace, Yael.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen.
DeleteYour garden looks beautiful. We've had more rain this winter than usual and I've noticed the Azaleas' are blooming very well this year.
ReplyDeleteIsrael is fighting the aligned forces of Evil in this world by itself. I'm praying Israel will achieve a lasting peace. Hope you and yours stay safe.
Indeed we are more alone than ever now and it scares me a little.
ReplyDeleteIt’s white here today, and whatever isn’t white is colourless.
ReplyDeleteCanada?
DeleteForgive me for being clueless, but has there been another specific threat? I can understand being on edge in any case. Your garden looks beautiful. I support you and I'm sure many others do too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Steve, I really appreciate your support. Indeed, this time there is a greater threat than ever from Iran, it is vague and unclear, but we are instructed here to prepare. Of course the preparations are a kind of illusion, if there really will be an attack that never happened, on the other hand, maybe there will be nothing. Meanwhile the sun is shining and life is fine.
DeleteI have just read about the Iranian threat. I hope it is all just words. You must be extremely uneasy. Hoping you and your family keep safe and peace is coming. Enjoy your garden
ReplyDeleteI also hope these are just words. In the meantime life is as usual.
DeleteAfter searching several news sources for current
ReplyDeleteinformation concerning
Iranian aggression towards Israel it seems the most dangerous areas
are buildings where government offices and/or officials are . If that's true staying home may be a good idea for now . Yael, I saw your mentioning prayers can't be counted on to help, I don't know why Israel has not been spared from trouble, yet I still hope and pray that you and those you love will be safe,Mary
I’m sorry Mary, I do believe in prayers sometimes, and sometimes i feel just helpless. Thank you for your kind comments all these time. Yael
DeleteIt is so good to hear from you again. Your garden looks lovely. Here, the trees are starting to get their leaves, and the tulips and narcissi are in flower. This weekend we are going to have 30°C, after 10°C a week ago, and a lot of dust from the Sahara.
ReplyDeleteI cannot watch the news any more. All the hateful faces, the young men proudly showing their guns, the burning of flags - it makes me sick. Those people should use their energy to make their own lifes better instead of hating and destroying. But I guess most of them have very little education and so are easily to manipulate.
Yael, I think of you every day and hope that you and your family and your country are safe.
Hilde in Germany
Thank you Hilde. I so appreciate your support.
DeleteYour Northern neighbours seem more dangerous than Gaza. I do hope they see sense, and don't escalate the situation. It would benefit no-one. I think of you often Yael, and wish you well. Your garden looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe garden is indeed a source of joy these days. I am waiting for better days.
ReplyDeleteOh yes the garden looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteYour garden reminds me of Arizona, except you have more flowers. Its very different to here as we come into spring,I have a large camellia with pink flowers, that has been blooming since January. This and bulbs have been our only outside colour , till now as nature springs into new life.
ReplyDeleteWill your cacti bloom for you ?
In the first picture, is that an old grinding wheel,in the centre ? it looks just like on in our garden.
Stay safe Yael and work with what you can change.
I think of you with an energy dome around you.
Kathy
Thank you Kathy, the garden is still blooming but soon the warmer days will come and it will be more yellow. Indeed this stone is an ancient millstone that someone found near here and brought it to me.
DeleteOf course delete
ReplyDeleteDear Yael, I am longing to know how you are in body and spirit and send much love from England.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kath for the concern. In these hours, we are all waiting for the Iranian response, whether it will be or not. For now I'm fine, I thank you so much for the kind words, it always helps here.
DeleteThinking of you and all you hold dear.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Elaine. We are still here.
ReplyDeleteI know I haven’t been reading your blog for long but, please keep safe, just heard yesterdays news (Sandy from Wales)
ReplyDeleteStay safe and strong Yael in these awful times. Let’s hope N doesn’t take the bate and retaliate.
ReplyDeleteVery happy to see you on line this morning, Yael.
ReplyDeleteSuch a worrying night for you, do hope you get a chance to relax a bit now. With love and prayers , Kathy
You were the first person I thought of when I heard about the attacks. Glad to see you are safe and I hope you stay that way, Yael!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and yours Yael, stay safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandy, Becki, Kathy, Ellen and Margo. I'm sorry I don't comment personally, it turns out that after last night's adrenaline and a day without sleep, I'm out of energy. Your comments are heartwarming and I appreciate it so much.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can gleen from our nightly news you have survived the latest barrage from Iran. Don't spend too much time alone otherwise your mind will run away with you! Sending good wishes and love from Australia x
ReplyDeleteThank you Judy.
ReplyDeleteThinking about you Yael, it must take a toll on you. Take care. Gigi
ReplyDeleteThank you Gigi. It's kind of a roller coaster ride now that we're living in, from global loneliness, we received a lot of help on that terrible night when terrible things could have happened to us, now we're once again in question marks, whether to respond or remain silent, and probably once again difficult days are ahead of us. But I think my next post will be Precisely about the "glass half full". An expression that here symbolizes optimism and hope.
