When I saw those shoes on a wire near my house ( in the above picture) I remembered that there is a bigger story about shoes on a wire. I checked it and found out that according to the urban legends that is a sign for a place where you can buy drugs or where are drug's dealers. I shall look very carefully around me in the future. 
It has become a world-wide phenomenon. Occasionally one sees hundreds. I have too few pairs of shoes to join in the fun.

ReplyDeleteI'm here ... had no electricity for 50 hours apart from a valuable 4 hour break when I did a load of washing. Horrendous thunder/lighting storms hammered our area putting out the electricity and the telephone for a while.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin found a pair of shoes on the roadside, placed them on their fence line in the hope the owner would see them. Days later more shoes were placed there; weeks later, even more and after a few months the fence was covered with shoes.
I hadn't heard of shoes on a wire being an 'advertising' sign.
welcome back Shirley. Iwas wondering may be I have some bug here but may be not. Here is like speing now but next week it might even snow a little beat. (I have a feeling that my spelling need more improovment|)
