Sometimes there is an attack by bots on my blog, most from Singapore and recently from more exotic countries, although the Chat GPT says they are not dangerous, but I still get scared and take the blog down for a while. For those who still try to read my blog, a message appears as if it is only for invitations, which is not the case. I simply change it from public to private. Now I'm back again and we'll see. The first few times when I saw that there were so many entries from Singapore and I saw that the entries were for posts from previous years, I felt very flattered, I thought to myself that someone was really interested in me, and it was flattering and scary at the same time. In the past, I too would sometimes read back posts on blogs when the blogger really interested me. Sometimes it was as interesting as reading a book, but I quickly realized that there was no one in Singapore who was interested in me, and that's when I started to worry. The weather here is wonderful, there is no heatwave, the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
It's nice at first to think that our blogs have captured the imagination and attention of many new people, and then realisation dawns. Any slight disappointment soon disappears, though, and things return to normal

ReplyDeleteI think the bots are more common every day. Lately, when I visit a site, I am asked to verify that I am human. This question never came up a few years ago.

I also ask myself the same questions, who is behind these bots and why are they here. I noticed that some people are afraid to comment here after I wrote about the bots, in my opinion they have no reason to be afraid.
DeleteI see in your 'Live Traffic Feed' that 'someone' from Singapore visited just before me. I wouldn't worry about it.

ReplyDeleteIs that a coleus in the photo? I have some in the house....they grow so quickly, and change colour depending on where they are sited!
Hello Frances,good to see you here.My grandchildren love almost everything, I make them what is called schnitzel here, chicken breast coated in breadcrumbs and fried, I have a secret recipe for the marinade before frying and it does all the magic. Sometimes I make them meatballs in red sauce or Bolognese and pasta. This plant is indeed what you wrote. I put a few stems in water at home for a while until roots emerge, and then plant them in pots. I also tried planting in the ground and it was very successful.

ReplyDeleteFrom Singapore it's definitely a bot, not a human, but I think behind every bot there's still someone and I wonder why. It's been a long time and they haven't caused any damage.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed similar surges of interest from locations overseas. Someone told me it has something to do with bots associated with AI, maybe collecting data for their systems to learn. I don't worry about it too much but it is a little strange.
ReplyDeleteI remember once when I first started blogging I wrote a post about another blog that I found and how much I was enjoying reading it. I sent it to the blogger, and I think it freaked him out because soon afterwards he made his blog private!
I'm still a little worried about the pace of arrivals from Singapore and now also from China, I'm constantly checking and trying not to worry.
