Things I haven't done in a long time

Things I miss and haven't done in a long time,
Go with the girl to the hairdresser, to the shops, marvel at how well she knows exactly what she wants, go with both of them to the small cafe in the mountains where there is no place to sit because of the dozens of motorcyclists who come there on Saturdays.
I  still see them at least twice a week, they are still happy to see me and love the food I cook for them, according to their request, and that is also a great joy.

  1. I didn't ever have a sister or daughter, so my fun with the boys was always cricket, football or soccer. When my first grandchild was a girl, I was delighted!! We didn't do hairdos, but we did clothes shopping, libraries, cooking and holidays together.

  2. Sometimes everything and everything looks similar everywhere.

    1. Yes, in the end we are all made of the same stuff and want roughly the same things.

  3. Step grand-daughter visited last weekend and our time alone was spent in discussion of mental health issues. The world seems to be a sad and scary place for our following generations. What on earth have we done to them/to their world?

    1. Indeed, the world has become a sad place, but it is still possible to generate a little joy in some corners.

    1. The photos are from a few years ago, since then they have grown more and today she dyes her hair alone, but we do other things together, when possible.

  9. A normal life. One that I live here. I hope you can enjoy all these activities with your grandchildren soon. It's marvellous to be a grandmother. The children grow up quickly, they still stay close but it's not the same when they are older and have lives of their own.

    1. We remain more or less the same, they are the ones who grow and change. But being a grandmother is still a wonderful thing.

  16. Hi Yael
Neither of my sons have families, so I do not have the pleasure of grand children. But it is important to pass on the knowledge and wisdom we gather, so glad you can. I pass it on freely to anyone who asks.
One day things will return to 'normal' , in the meantime we have to appreciate all the good things around us,,
    Walk in beauty, Yael
