WhatsApp

My grandchildren came to visit and while watching the television i had time to think.I thought about WhatsApp.WhatsApp is very useful for me,When ever i start to worry about one of my 3 children i just have to look at the WhatsApp and it tells me "he/she was last seen at..." and than i know that they are OK.(The truth is that sometimes i ask myself what if nothing is OK and the phone is used by a thief?)
I just looked at my son's WhatsApp, I know that he does not use WhatsApp a lot but sometimes he does.He was last seen yesterday evening and only than he saw the massage from me "can you come pleas and help me with the TV?" (we had a power outage and i did not get along with the remote control),I sent the massage a week ago when he was here., He saw it only yesterday, 5 days after he went back to Europe.I know that he saw it only yesterday because of those 2 little blue strips,

    1. I don't know what he was thinking when he saw my massage a week later and many km away from home.

    1. You need a smart phone in your pocket.

    2. Yes you need a smart phone for that.

    4. I, like Cro, have an old cell phone, I do not have a smartphone. My son put my cell phone number in my tablet and I can now use the whatsapp app from there. X

  9. We have Viber and I love it. Instant communication with my brother in Australia and lots of photos too.
Glad you can keep in touch with your son with WhatsApp

  11. Ha ha! There's no substitute for shouting, it seems. They (the creators) have just sold 'SnapChat' for $28 BILLION, despite the fact that it has been losing $9 billion a year for ages. The crazy thing is that this bubble will probably not burst. They see revenue where we see loss.

  12. Yes, i should just shout, he was behind the wall when i needed help. All the young people here are using SnapChat now because they don't want their grandmothers at Facebook any more.

    1. The biigest advantage of Snapchat (so I am told) is that the filthy pictures delete themselves once viewed by the recipient. I wish the same went for emails, etc.

    2. I wonder what will be 10 years from now and how old ours smarts phones will look.

  13. We have a thing from AT&T called Family Map that is very useful. If you lose your phone, you can log onto the family map page and find it within a few feet. If you want to see where a family member is, you can locate them pretty closely. It only costs ten dollars a month.

  14. That is nice, i like Apps that let you "spy".

  15. I'm embarrassed to say that I have not been able to figure out how to successfully download whatsapp to my phone. There were a few people I wanted to keep in sort of immediate touch with in Zurich and Germany, but have to rely on the odd email with them instead.

  16. Oh dear, I feel so behind the times as I have never heard of WhatsApp!! Then again where I live we do not have mobile coverage and even the internet connection can fluctuate [and I live only 17kms from town!]

  17. I use WhatsApp quite a lot, but I don't know what you mean by the 2 blue lines. I get a blue tick when it leaves my phone and another when it reaches the recipient's phone. Just had a look at my phone as I sent a message and picture last night and no response so far! Do I need to change somethings in settings do you know?

  18. Those blue ticks are the blue strips here Frances,i think i was missunderstood, i can see the time when he was last seen, not the place.when you send the massage it is one gray tick, when it arrives it is 2 gray ticks, only when the recipient sees it, it turns blue.

  19. I must look more carefully to see if my ticks are changing colour!!

  20. Those ticks are like v down on the left side of the massage near the hour that it was sent.

  21. My ticks are at the bottom of the message but on the right!!

  22. Double grey check marks : This indicates that the message has been delivered to the recipient.
Double blue check marks : This indicates that the message has been read by the recipient.

  23. I will message my son tonight and see if they change colour! thanks for the information.
Hope that you and your animals are all OK. Our very old ( nearly 18) cat died just over a week ago. I still say hello to him when I pass the place he always used to be! He is the first of my pets who died and didn't have to be " put down", which was a blessing of sorts. X

  24. I am so sorry to hear that Frances,i am sure your cat felt loved and happy at your place. Our cats are OK, they seemed to miss my son,he used to drink his cofee on the front porch and they come a lot to sit where he used to sit.
