I see those planes over my head all morning. As far as i know the fires here are over, The planes came from Greece with some others from Russia, Turkey, and the Palestinian authority.Sometimes you need big disasters to connect people again.
Good to hear that the fires are all out now. It was reported in our TV/ radio media briefly, but I didnt see it in the paper. How far away from you was it? Hello to you and your family. X
Hello Frances, good to see you here again, it was around us here, few miles from here but it could be here any moment because of the strong winds, rainy day here today and i like it.
Wish we had some of those here. North Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina have had big forest fires for weeks now. Last week Gatlinburg, TN had strong winds that blew the fire into town and killed some people. It's raining here now but the weather man says the fires are still burning.
We did have to think what we shall take from the house in few minuts and how we shall take 2 cats and the dog in the car , it was close but did not came too close.
Hi yael, I somehow missed your blog! Just found it......obviously. those fire planes are so familiar. They are called Canadairs...Canadian originally. When we have a fire they swoop down over the sea near us and fill up, come round over the fire, drop the seawater and swoop back over the sea again. Fantastic to watch. Fire is frightening though. We've a couple which were too close for comfort
