Ceasfire now. five minutes before it started there was a missile barrage all over Israel.
Now it is quiet for 2 hours.
I still have that Gas masks that we did not have to refresh this time.
(Those boxes above are our gas masks from onother war. We have to keep them just in case...)
I do hope this ceasefire lasts and there is a truce.
ReplyDeleteWith any luck you will be able to read some of your collection of books.:)
It is now 10 hours without missiles and alarms. About the books- I have more to read:)
DeleteI do hope it sticks this time, but some how I doubt it will. Hamas' stated objective is the destruction of Israel. They have no other purpose. I saw an interview with the head of Hamas on TV the other day and he was asked if he would accept a two state solution in order to have peace. He categorically stated he would not. But it was a short bit on FOX TV and got little coverage, No one in the mainstream alphabet soup news media even noticed it. If you read the Hamas charter it states that a political/agreed solution is contrary to the principles of Hamas and no truce is to be accepted other than for temporary military strategic advantage. I ask how do you deal with that other than the absolute destruction of those who promote this ideological death cult? There is a vast difference between what Israel does and what Hamas does, but somehow the mainstream media seeks to draw some sort of moral equivalency and provide justification for the murders committed by Hamas. Going so far as to say that Israel bombed a hospital when it was Hamas that had 175 lbs of explosives built in to the structure of the building that Hamas triggered when IDF troops walked in to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteStay strong and remember even though there are many ignorant and ill intentioned people out in the world hating Israel, there are many here who also pray for you.
Thank you so much M. Silvius. It hearts me so much to read those negative and bad comments on some blogs. I see that most of the people do not understand what is going on here but I dont trust my English so I don't even try to comment back.
DeleteIt is very comforting to know that there people like you in our hostile world.
Yael: Like they say, its not that they are stupid, it is that they know so much that simply is not so. And the mainstream media here in the US as well as I expect in Europe is greatly responsible for that. The media here is dominated by those who seek to "change the world" and implement their own misguided visions. They are no longer impartial observers. Their reports are decidedly one sided full of half truths and misinformation. A lot simply so due to incompetence, a lot due to intentional malice and conceited arrogance. So masses of lemming are indoctrinated with false or completely one sided information. Here we have something called National Public Radio, NPR, a government (tax funded) syndicated radio channel that refuses to call Hamas, Islamic Brotherhood, ISIS or any one of the other Islamic organizations responsible for all this brutality in the name of Islam around the world, terrorists. NPR is the preferred station of so called intellectuals and academics. What do you do with that? Much of this so called "Arab spring" taking place over the last 4 years is not by accident. Our own president promoted the Islamic Brotherhood takeover in Egypt. The majority of those tunnels supplying Hamas were built with their help during the time they controlled Egypt. Our president also expressly stated that he seeks to diminish the influence of the USA around the world in order for others to take the lead. Well, he did, those with totalitarian death cult ideals have taken advantage of the purposeful vacuum he has left. What has happened in the Ukraine, Gaza, Iraq and so much of the Arab world is a direct result of our presidents policies and misadminsitration.
DeleteI do hope for everyone's sake this truce holds. Given the track record I would not be at all surprised to see it all fall apart and witness a repeat.
All the best. Michael
I can't help wondering why no-one made a fuss when Hamas were indiscriminately firing all those rockets for years on end; maybe they thought it was OK. And why all this sudden love affair with Arab terrorism? I am totally bemused.
DeleteAnd all the terrrism in Europe. what is going on? I just heared that theater in London canceled jewish film festival and in scotland they would not let Israeli groop to preform in a festival,
DeleteThank you Michael. You can see what some refuse to see,Look what is hapaning in Iraq and Syria, they are killing their own people and the world ignores it.
ReplyDeleteYes I have seen the videos of the ISIS savages slaughtering other Muslims simply because they don't follow their own brand of unforgiving Islam. But that got no mention here on the news. Because it does not fit in tho the narrative they wish to portray. They like the drama of crying Palestinian kids better and it is so much easier to blame Israel rather than really investigate who launched the rockets in to the school yard. Funny thing is that as result of my two comments above I now have infantile hate mail on my blog from someone who claims to be Jewish, though he does no even have the courage to identify himself. Seems the hateful and blind are everywhere. All I can suggest to that anonymous poster who's comment will not get past my approval, is to go out and read the Hamas charter. It is widely available on the internet. I guess while he was to busy playing his video games he also did not read the news a couple of days ago about how 30 Palestinians in Gaza who protested the actions of Hamas were summarily rounded up and shot in the head by Hamas. No, I am sure that's too distasteful for his refined palate.
ReplyDeleteThat anonymous also commented here several times but I deleted his comments.
ReplyDeleteIt is kind of strange getting back to routine instead of shigrat cherum, isn't it.
