The children who returned from captivity

The children who returned from captivity are two, three, four, eight or twelve years old. Still talking in whispers. They lost their voice after being banned from speaking out loud for more than fifty days in dark tunnels.                                                                                                                                                                                        They came back very thin. Eat a pita bread or two a day. They have not seen sunlight and have skin problems. Also orthopedic problems because they haven't been on the move for so long.                                                Some of them returned with the mothers and the father remained captive or was murdered on the first day of what happened here. Some of them returned without parents. They can't really go home because they don't have a home. Their houses were destroyed and burned.                                                     They stay with their whole community in small rooms in hotels in Israel and are basically refugees in their own country. They have nowhere to return.                                                                                         A nine-month-old baby and a two-year-old boy were still left there with their mother. Hamas claims that it does not know where they are. What does a baby do in captivity? Recently there are rumors that they are no longer alive.                                                                                                                                              Twelve-year-old Eitan, who was there alone all these days, said that they beat him and forced him to watch the horror films of the massacres that Hamas committed here. His father is still in captivity. His mother was also kidnapped from the house with a baby and a four-year-old girl but managed to escape on the way. Yesterday they met after fifty-four days.                                                                                                            There is still a ceasefire here and no one knows if it will last two more days and what will happen next.

    1. We must find the words so that the world knows. We are not the only ones in danger.

  2. I think the story of Eitan being forced to watch those videos is really disgusting. These people are monsters. I would love to send him my very best wishes.

  3. There aren't words to describe how repulsive
reported crimes by Hamas are, my heart goes out to you and all who've suffered through the heinous situation.Trying to help by supporting charities that attempt to at least feed the innocent
victims ,and pray for their peace and safety is a small gesture, still I hope and pray that it helps each time I make a donation.I hope you somehow manage to sleep securely,
Be as well as you can knowing people care,God cares,too.-Mary

  4. I read a plea from a Jewish American woman whose son was captured and his forearm blown off in the capture. Her letter was a plea to a Palestinian woman to care for her son, please. The boy was a college student. I have been unable to find any further information. Are you aware of this young man? Can you tell me?

  5. Little Emily Hand was returned to her father who said in an interview that when they were reunited she was speaking in barely audible tones and was extremely gaunt.

    1. Eight-year-old Emily's mother died of cancer two years ago, the woman from her father's second marriage, his current divorcee, adopted her and took care of her in their kibbutz. Unfortunately she was murdered that Saturday.

  6. Even if the Israeli children are saved and receive quality treatments, they will never be normal again. My sister in law is 92 and still relives her 3 parents and 6 siblings being massacred in WW2.

    1. Thank you Terra, I try to focus on the good people who care and ignore as much as possible the other voices that show so much ignorance and hypocrisy.

  9. Even so, our people are wounded and scarred by so many things that have happened to us. It's hard for me to understand the hatred.

  10. I can't conceive of such cruelty to children. Or anyone, really, but especially children. It's heartbreaking.

  11. I read your post and I see the stories of those children on tv. It breaks my heart to hear of their treatment. Thank goodness these children have been freed. How many more are there. Why

    1. There is only one way to destroy the wicked, and unfortunately it comes with a heavy price.

    2. Do you really think the Hamas can be destroyed ? Supported by many countries and years ago even paid by Israel when the Fatah was not wished to get a power position.
Politics is a dirty business and the ennemy of yesterday becomes a partner" cf. Quatar even if this country finances with billion of dollars the Hamas terrorists. No honour in this world.
      I wonder when the poor
and traumatized hostages will be free. I wish you strenght to overcome this horror.

  17. Sadly, I hear the pause in war has ended. The heartbreak of children held hostage and mistreated is disgusting and criminal. Innocent people, including children, are paying the price of war. I understand the interest/priority of eliminating Hamas but is war the only answer? The loss of innocent lives caught in the crossfire is the result and Hamas continues as does the war. There has to be a better way. I am so sorry you are experiencing this terrible horrific war. Try to stay safe and know I am thinking of you.

  18. Susan, Hamas is a terrorist organization, it is not interested in peace, Hamas is actually ISIS which is an ideological organization that strives to dominate Islam in the world, the citizens in Gaza are also their victims and they want the Hamas to disappear from Gaza because they caused them all this suffering. People are mistaken and call it the Israel and Palestine war, there is no such thing and it only shows a lack of understanding and knowledge of the situation. The situation right now is that nobody wants Gaza after the war and there will be a problem. The desperation here is very great. I thank you for your support and understanding.
