Sneaky the cat

yesterday was the international cat day. ( I did not know but my son texted me from Europe).
so I decided that it is a good time to make an homage to sneaky the cat.
Sneaky was a stray cat. I saw him for many months sitting on the trash cans in the street.
It was his territory and he did not let other cats to live there.
When Edmund the cat decided to come to live with us about a year ago, Sneaky watched him very carefully.
at the beginning he just ate with Edmund and kept him company at meal times.
Slowly he began to trust us. (me and my son). And now, after a year he is calling me in the mornings if I am
late and he wants his meals to be served in time.
He wants my attention when ever I am sitting on the porch. I don't sit in the porch very much this days so
he is knocking on the door and calling me out.
I noticed that cats are indifferent to the alarms, unlike dogs and humans who get very scared.

  1. Happy International Cat Day! Interesting that cats don't mind our sirens.

  3. He looks like a street smart cat, Doesn't look like much would bother him. Cats are aloof that way. They come to you only when they feel like it. I had to put mine down two years ago this month when she came down with cancer. She looked like yours but had a bit of yellow and white on her as well. Hope things are quiet there today.

  4. He is very handsome…I love tabby cats. I have had 5 cats over the years since I was about 26 . All of them various types of tabby. My cat now is 15 years old, and on borrowed time. He was diagnosed with fluid on the lungs or round the heart about a year ago, but I decided not to put him through invasive procedures, and he is still with us, and seems to be happy and content…although he is very thin, despite eating lots of food. I have found that when cats are put on medication they die within a couple of weeks! The dog has had a busy day, and is now sleeping on his fleece on the floor. We are expecting a lot of rain tomorrow …..though our little local river ( The River Lea) was flooded in the valley this morning after overnight rain, so it might be very high if we get a lot of rain tomorrow. It has been very dry for weeks, so all the water probably goes straight into the river…..not able to soak into the dry ground. X

  5. I love the expression on Sneaky's eyes ... I always think cats never look like they are observing you with those half closed eyes, but they are! Somewhere I read 'cats own us, while we own dogs' ... in that dogs do our bidding when requested but cats do what they like when they like. We had several black cats years ago and they, without fail, loved to sneak into bed and curl up down the bottom at our feet. Happy Cat Day!!

  6. Sneaky (or his brother) is sitting on my lap as I write. I love Tabbies, to me they are REAL cats. I had no idea it was international cat day yesterday; probably a good thing as Freddie would have demanded more attention.
