happy is the believer

(All the photos here were taken by my 4 years old granddaughter with my iPhone)
We were so sure and happy because we really believed this is the
end of the war. So we went out after a month to near by restaurant. There were 2 quiet days. No more.
minute after the end of the ceasefire, 8 o'clock in the morning Hamas renewed their rocket fire.
At least we had a very happy and quiet (OK, relatively quiet with 3 kids- 2, 4. 5 )evening in the restaurant

  1. If she already takes such fun photos, your little granddaughter should open her own blog, too! :)

  3. Since we did not hear form your yesterday, I am glad to see that as I expected you were out and about taking advantage of the temporary cease fire yesterday. Sounds like you had a nice reprieve however short lived it was. I was not surprised to learn that the rockets started flying from Gaza even before it was officially over. I can't imagine how it feels to be under constant threat of these insane attacks. Now that I know just even a tiny little bit about you over there it just all seems a bit closer to home. You are in our thoughts. Please be safe and stay strong. Michael

  6. Aron: There you go being rude and spewing your hate again. If you don't like what you read here why do you keep coming back? I had figured by now you would be packing your bags to move elsewhere since you hate what Israel does so much. Why don't you start your own blog? That way you can actually prove you are who you say you are, and not some Palestinian troll. And then you can have a place to complain about all the supposed evils that Israel does and write what ever you want. No, you won't because just like the murderers of Hamas you are too lazy and you'd rather piss on someone else's work than do what it takes to do something constructive. I do think you complain way to loudly. I'll let you in to a little secret, your hateful attitude will not win you any converts.
You are eating up the bilge that the media feeds you and its your own fault. I'll leave you with this piece by Salvador Sostres.
    LIFE and DEATH
The corpse count is the demagoguery against the IDF for their work in the defense of Israel, because while the civilized and free states protect their citizens, barbarian tribes use them as human shields to count their deaths, that's all the Palestinians do. The only thing they have done all along. Of course, the war between Israel and Palestine is not a war between equals. Because Israel has always supported the construction of a state for the Palestinians, once Israel's security was guaranteed by a Palestinian peaceful compromise. The Hamas charter does no even once call for a Palestinian state and, instead, up to seven times it commands to throw the Jews into the sea and the destruction of Israel.
This is not a war between equals, but not because the Israelis have better weapons than the Palestinians, but because the objective in Israel is life and in Palestine it is death. Just see how each community takes care of their country. Just see how Israel protects its citizens, and Palestine exposes them to be the winner in the body count. Just witness how Israel collects and buries their dead with pain and sorrow and Palestine parades their corpses and exhibits them like medals among celebrating fans shooting off guns. If Palestine committed itself to never more attack Israel, Israel would have no need to defend it self and would leave Gaza, and bring down the wall itself, because they no longer need to protect themselves from Palestinian terrorist rockets. Palestine is not interested in peace because they don't know what to do with it, because a prosperous and free democratic society has never flourished in Islam. Palestine does not care to be a state because its only obsession is to eliminate Israel. Just like Arafat, Hamas is not the solution, it is the problem. The corpses are what the Palestinians wants to have, in order to make the war last as long as Palestine wants the war to last. As long as Palestine uses its citizen as bait it can not complain when they then achieve their objective. Israel can not be denied the right to defend itself because this would deny its right to exist. This is not a war of religions, or territories, or brothers who hate. It is a war between life and death, between civilization and savages, between the West and the destruction of the West. It is a war between a free lifestyle and the terrorist dictatorships. It is a war between good and evil.
Israel is a dam against barbarism. And since they are holding it off for us all, defending life and liberty, the least you could do is to stop insulting them.

  8. I am so pleased you had a lovely stress-free [well almost as I am sure the current events were always in a corner of your mind] with your grandchildren. Your little grand daughter may just have a future in photography!!! Taking photos today is so much easier than a few years ago when we had to wait for often days to have a film developed.
Have a safe trip on your visit to your father:) It is the simple actions of a mother, grandmother, and daughter that are true bravery.
As for the deleted comments ... I agree with Michael ... alter your blog so you can moderate [delete!] unwelcome comments.
    Stay safe Yael:)

  9. Was anyone surprised that Hamas opened fire exactly at 8am? Not me! I hear that there is going to be a huge anti Israel demonstration in London this weekend.... I sometimes wonder if we're reading the same news.

  11. Michael explained everything so well…..it is exactly what I understand is going on. I almost wish I had not discovered your blog, as it makes it all seem much closer, and I can't personally do anything to help, but if I can give you just a little knowledge that there are people in other countries thinking of you and wishing you safe and well it is worth it.I also wish the same for the civilian population of Gaza, who are being used in the most horrific way for propaganda purposes. I hope you understand what I am trying to say? Stay safe. XX
