back to lazy gardening

I started this blog as an experiment. I wanted to improve my English
and to get over my fear of loosing my privacy.I  know that every thing that
you post in the Internet will stay there forever and am not sure about it.
This blog was almost secret. Shirley from Australia was my one and only loyal
reader and I was happy with that.
The war brought more people here. Most of them really helped me
to pass those scary days. There were also some negative and full of hatred comments which I
deleted.
I did not bomb Gaza. I am a grandmother who does not want to be hurt by a missile and
don't want my Grandchildren to get hurt.
I hope that from now on my blog will be more happy blog.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now it is time to go back to my lazy gardening.
Dose any body knows what is this flower and how should I keep it alive?

    1. No, you'll simply write about other (more peaceful) things; I hope.

  3. I know what you mean. So long as the ordinary is not war, It is a lot easier dealing with the ordinary. It helps if the subject is attractive like your flowers. It soothes the soul. And who could not love a cat or two? Though I have often been tempted to post about current affairs and political issues on my blog I have strongly resisted, and make an effort instead to keep it to my daily activities. We have a similar flower here in Maine but the leaf if completely different. The flower is only good for a couple of days and then it wilts.

  4. No one wishes harm to you or your grandchildren but you blogged about your fear and the courage of Israel having not a single thought for the Gaza civil killed. Yes I am a Jew even if mr silvius doubts it .no I'm not playing playstation I am not american and I am not 18 to waste my time.sorry to say he is not very smart and why should we not try to live in peace together. I am not supporting Hamas but my country's way to solve the problem is not the good one. That's all. I wish you peace and your flowers look beautiful. Oh and you have cats, me too. I've got one .

  5. Aron:
Apparently flowers are not enough to soothe some people. There you go devolving things in to name calling again, just like you did when you commented on my blog. That is what people do when they are incapable of putting forth a sustainable argument. Unfortunately you contradict yourself even within a single sentence.
Yesterday you said that: (quote/cut and paste)
-"a.nation built on judaism and the thora is just unbearable for my family and me. Free Palestina and boycott for Israel"-
I ask why are you still living in Israel? Perhaps if it is so objectionable you should do as you say, boycott Israel and move and find a more agreeable environment, one that would better tolerate your self admitted "liberal" views. Though I dare say perhaps Gaza or anywhere in the Muslim world that surrounds Israel might not be your best choice. Given their track record, the last thought that comes to mind when I think of them is being tolerant of liberal views. In fact if one could sum up it up in one characteristic, intolerance IS the hallmark of ALL the Muslim nations. Look what it got the thirty Palestinians who protested Hamas' actions in Gaza last week. And when was the last time you saw a christian church or a synagogue in a Muslim country?
Yesterday in your comment to me you claimed that no one dares criticize Israel. And you could not be further from the truth. All you see over here in the press is criticism for what Israel has done. At best the pres tries to justify the actions of Hamas, at worst they express overt support for their terrorist actions. I clearly explained that in my comments yesterday, and perhaps you need to go back and read them again. But perhaps most off all you simply need to learn to appreciate the flowers.

  6. Now the foreign correspondents are living Gaza and they feel safe to admit Hamas launched rockets from Shifa hospital and from schools and hotels.

    1. I think we all knew that anyway; it's part of their normal strategy.

  7. I am sure that your blog will not be boring without the war. I would love to hear about your way of life in Israel, which is probably much the same as mine here in England, but there will be differences. I am sorry I do not know your plant ( and I am a very keen gardener and houseplant owner) so can't help you there. I have a very elderly cat and a young dog….your cats look lovely. Have you just got the 2 of them? Yesterday I was talking to my Israeli friend about what has been going on there and now have a better understanding of the problems you are having. I do so hope that peace will reign…for a while at least, but hold out no great hopes..be safe, and your grandkids too. I can't imagine how I would feel if my grandchildren were in such a place. Please email me…I would love to write personally to you occasionally. X

  9. Blogging for me is a way to find out about places in the world I don't already know about, and to learn more about places I do know. I know almost nothing about Israel, so a post-war or ceasefire blog from you would be really interesting Yael :-)
