I wonder why

Inspired by Cro I went to look for walnuts oil.I could not find even one bottle in 3 shops that i thought it might be there. There are so many things there but not the one small bottle that i am looking for.

  1. Hello Yael, I like these photographs of the shops. Blogs are so interesting on that you can get glimpses into countries you have never visited .

  3. There is a great variety of foodstuffs in your [local?] shop! So much of what is in the supermarkets here are pre-packaged.

  4. I am surprised to see so many sweets , nuts, dried fruit etc. all on open display to pick your own. Here, they would be all prepackaged, which I think I prefer. I would worry about who had been putting their hands in/on the food before me and where their hands might have been previously!
I have got " Eurosport" coverage of Tour de France on the TV at the moment, as advised by you and Rachel…..just waiting for the ad break to hopefully see some of Israel.

  5. Hi Yael
Do you have something delicious in mind for the walnut oil? I love it on salads, or just to dip good bread in.

  9. If you cannot buy walnut oil you can eat the walnuts themselves, they are also very good for you. The oil is sold in supermarkets here with the salad dressings. I take a spoonful of golden linseeds each day and these are very good and do much the same thing as the walnut oil (I grind the seeds in a coffee grinder). I am glad you are enjoying the Tour.

For many years i am watching the Tour, i missed last year because of the war i could watch only I sraeli channels which let us know if there is an alarm.

  11. What a great looking shop (regardless of the open sweets etc). My guest leaves today, so I shall be back in front of the TV for the final half hour of each day's tour. I'm hoping for an English win!

  14. My wife would spend us into the poor house if she had access to shops like that. All those good things!

We buy a lot of food at the little road side stalls here, or at farmers markets. So things being out on open display doesn't really bother us.

  15. Those shops are not very expensiv. Your wife could buy a lot here.

  16. The shop is so much more interesting than our supermarkets; I'd truly enjoy exploring it.
Hope you don't mind me hopping over here but, well, you seem such a lovely person, and bullies really put my back up.
