summer 2015

We are doing what ordinary people are doing in the summer,
but where ever we are, we(I) remember all the time that i have  45 seconds to find a shelter with 3 grandchildren, in case we need to find one.

  1. Always one eye on the shelter. I hope you don't need to run for it. So many bad things all the time, everywhere.

  3. The supporters of Hamas have been unusually quiet recently. No Hamas rockets; so nothing to blame Israel for! Stay safe. I think of you often.

    1. There is at least 1 rocket weekly, but i am not sure that people outside know. I think of you every day :) Thank you Cro. It is a year that i met your blog and i like it every day.

  4. With that short timeline always in your mind you must find it difficult to enjoy normal family life in the summer time. Strange thing is we are 'mankind' in name, but not in nature! Too sad.

  5. It is strange Shirley but we do enjoy every day life, that is the other side of the human mind and spirit.i think that most of us compare this summer to the last year summer and we bring the subject to our conversations this days.

  6. Hi Yael. Yeah, it is hard when you have the little ones to worry about in case of a siren. But still, after all the terrorist killings yesterday, "Bloody Friday," in several different countries, I am glad to be right here in Israel.
    Shabbat shalom.

  7. Image. A muslim woman and her husband, probably from the Balkans, delving, as many poor folk do, in the waste bins at a vegetable market in Vienna for scraps of cabbage and potatoes this morning . . . so what are their children doing? A short time later I give some coins to another muslim on a street corner. He is selling a magazine for the homeless. He is a nice man. He would never kill anybody. But what are the children doing?

    1. You are not wrong Yael. There's generally a puppet master someplace pulling the strings.

  9. I feel so sad that you have to live with the fear of rockets all the time. If you ever want to come to England I would love it if you stayed with us... A break from the fear maybe? We are 25 mins from London on the train so we could visit. Have you been to England/ London? X

  10. You are so kind Frances, thank you, I was in England many years ago.
Our life here is ok most of the time, the war yet is only in our head so we can live and be happy most of the time.

  11. Do you go to the beach in the summer? Israel has some really nice beaches. One day, if I can get my wife on a plane, we are going to come and visit. She says she has traveled enough in her life, but I want to see the armored corps museum, the air force museum, the archaeological sites. I want to eat exotic food and sit on the balcony of a hotel near the beach to watch the sunrise. We'll make it there one day.

  12. You are welcome Harry. I don't go to the beach often. Should go more. I think you will like Israel.
