Spring came in the middle of winter

It's all blooming in my garden now. They come every year and I'm always as excited as meeting old friends.

  1. Spring flowers are always so very welcome after the cold, wet and stormy weather of Winter. Yours are very pretty.

    1. They are actually winter flowers but for me they hint at spring.

  2. I never thought of Israel having seasons, I thought it was just wet occasionally and dry mostly. Flowers blooming always bring a bit of joy in gloom.

  3. The change of seasons here is very short but still noticeable.

  4. How nice that you have a garden! I haven't had one in years, however there are wildflowers galore around my home.To me it seems generous of God to
decorate our world with whimsical beautiful things

    1. I have a small garden, and wild flowers all around. This is the time when everything is green around, then there is a lot of yellow until next winter.

  5. How pretty! There's nothing in the world like watching spring flowers come back. It's good for the soul.

  6. That's right Jennifer. There is something comforting about the cycle of plants.

  7. Spring flowers are a joy. I grew up in Northern California. Your beautiful photos remind me of Northern California in February, especially the one of the purple lupine.

    1. The area here is known for its fields of lupines, on Saturdays many people come here to admire their blossoms.

  9. Roses and daffodils and lupines all at the same time, how lovely! Here the snowdrops are just starting to flower. The daffodils will be next, and for the roses I will have to wait until June.

  10. We have Camelias, but they never really open properly; I don't think they like the cold.

  11. The land your flowers sit in looks dry (of course) and rocky. Can you tip 15 cms of mulch and soil on top of the ground? Even in a small garden, the beautiful flowers will thank you :)

  12. Some of the flowers are growing on a blanket of gravel that I spread because of the weeds that grow here, underneath it all there are pipes with drips that water them.

  15. Beautiful! You are farther along than we are, unsurprisingly, but as Tom said things here are flowering early too.

Our lupines didn't bloom at all last year. The plants are still alive so I'm hoping they come through this year, but Dave thinks they're probably done. (Apparently they're relatively short-lived perennials.)

    1. The lupines probably come from the area that is completely covered with them. People come from all over the country to see them this season. It is indeed a beautiful sight.

    1. Thank you Tera. Camellia is one of my favorite flowers, unfortunately it doesn't do well in the gardens here.

  17. The flowers are lovely, Yael. They help heal our hearts.
When I am angry or upset about things I cannot change, I go and grow things. I feel that anything we can do to help make the world better is more useful than just expressing my feelings.
    Thinking of you Yael

  19. Thank you Hilde. Unfortunately, most people believe everything that their television channels broadcast, and the people here in blogland are not always aware of the facts. thanks for worrying.
