The bright side

Edmund the cat makes me feel a little bit sad so i try to look at the bright side of life. My daughter is riding again and loves it like she always did.My grandson played 51 games of chess , he won 12 and lost in the rest but was very happy."I am learning how to stay calm when i lose" he told me.

  3. How much better for the grandchildren to have 'decent' pastimes ... much better than forever texting.
I could never understand Chess so I take my hat off to your grandson.
Neighbours have horses and I am learning to get close to them ... I had never had any contact with horses so it is a learning curve for me; a lovely learning curve.

  4. I love that he is trying to learn to stay calm when he loses, and then continues to play.

  5. I am not a good Chess player, but I did run a Chess Club at my youngest son's junior school in the UK, and also founded the Chess Club at my own old school. It teaches logic and strategy; both of which are essential.

  7. The picture of the horse and rider is beautiful. Lovely colours. I wish your grandson could teach my grandson to be calm when things don't go to his liking! Yours sounds like a sensible young man. Mine is only 4 so I guess there is hope yet! I hope that Edmund gets better soon. X
