  1. Chocolate and tear gas, ready for any emergency. Good that you are prepared, one or the other will surely work.

    1. In the States it would be toys, handgun, and chocolates! Haha!

(Actually, that's not really a joke. Lots of grandmothers around here carry a little pistol in their purse!)

  6. Do many people there carry tear gas? It is a sad thing that you feel you have to have it. It could of course be used against you..do please be careful. X

  7. I love the way you say, you know how to use the chocolates but not the tear gas - chocolate is yummy, but I hope you will never have to use the tear gas though. My husband used to say I had a "Mary Poppin" bag, because when my son was little my bag was so full of all the necessary and that I would've fitted the bath tub in it too if I could! Now I carry as little as needed. Take care. Greetings Maria x

  12. Your handbag contents are truly opposites ... toys and tear gas! So sad isn't it when folk feel the need to carry weapons.
Alas the contents of my handbag are much bigger than yours Yael ... and most of it is simply junk. I must make the effort to clear it out before 2016.

  13. Adding to my comment ... a few years ago I visited Perth Zoo [Western Australia] and sat watching the orangutans; fascinating viewing! Someone said to me to open my handbag and put it by the glass. The orangutans showed such a lot of interest in the contents peering close to see exactly what was there.

    1. It is so human to want to see what the others have inside their handbags.
My handbags used to be a big mess when i was still working, now i try to carry less.
It is so nice Shirley that you came back to comment after thinking about it:)

  14. Hi, I read your comment on Tom's blog. Now: here is a new follower!
I loved that solved mystery of 'What is in a granny's handbag?", but was surprised about the teargas. (Maybe some commenter said that before - I never read the comments before I write - only later).

  16. Yael I enjoyed this post. It is such a personal thing what people carry in their handbags. When me sons were younger I was often astounded at what strange objects ended up in my bag.
