Hanuka is over (or the truth about real life)

This is the last evening of the holiday,a peaceful moment near the beautiful candles. I can leave it as it is here with the wonderful feeling of light, warmth and quiet evening, but the truth is that 5 minutes after we lit the candles, he wanted a toy that his sister was playing with, she wanted something that we could not get at that moment and the oldest one (7) was crying  because he lost in the card games.  They were fighting and shouting and crying for some long moments, until suddenly it was quiet again.Real life and blogland life are sometimes parallel universes, different but a like.

  1. We fight and squabble out here in blogland and sometimes I think it will never come back to peace. It always has so far. You are so right in your observation. Oh how I know.

  5. When my kids were little and living at home, the only quiet time was when they went to sleep. During the holidays, when they were all wound up, that was not often enough.

  8. Beautiful menorah. All these winter holidays of lights evoke such peacefulness - for at least a few moments. I enjoy quiet and peace, but only for so long. Then I need the grandchildren to come over and remind me that life can also be loud and boisterous. It sounds like yours are fun.
