Succsess

My daughter gave me long ago tulip bulbs and i forgot them in the freezer for some weeks. Lately i put them  in the ground and in a pot and  voila- the first time in my life something that i planted is also flowering!! Some day I  am going to show you the raise beds that i build 2 years ago when I was inspired by too many blogs that i was reading at that time. All 3 of them are falling apart now and i never used them because i did not have time/knowledge/ courage/, may be some day i shall/

  1. If you have soil in your raised beds scatter a packet of seeds in, water them and see what happens.

  2. I have around a hundred tulip bulbs in my flower beds, unfortunately they are currently under about one meter of snow and ice. They will look nice when they bloom. But with the amount of snow we had this year we are unlikely to see them until June.

  5. My wife had this place up here on the mountain looking like a garden. She loves flowers. But then I bought two goats, and they ate a lot of the flowers and vines. Then I got chickens, and they finished it off. So all we have now are some hanging baskets on the front porch. I understand about not getting all your raised beds planted. Always too much to do and not enough time to do it.

  8. Tulips are such 'sunny' flowers. Near my old home town in New Zealand there were fields of tulips as many Dutch folk settled in our area in the 1950's. It was amazing driving by and seeing a striped carpet of tulips.
Enjoy your time with your visitors:)

    1. I looked at them few minutes ago (the tulips) and asked myself if they will flower also next winter, i hope so.

    2. I planted mine over six years ago and they have come up every year since. They do need a good winter freeze and then they come up in the spring. Every few years if I find a good sale on the bulbs I add some more as some don't make it.

  9. Neither I, nor Lady Magnon, know anything about flowers, but every year we buy a few bags of different bulbs and plant them randomly. Maybe this year we should buy Tulips.

  10. I also put seeds in the ground at the begining of the winter but nothing came out.
