more about the Olive Tree

In Hebrew we say" God gave nuts to those who has no teeth".
Any way the tree is too high and I can not climb and pick the olives.
but it is beautiful. I know.

Next week is our Holiday Rosh Hashana. The beginning of the Jewish year.
I read in the newspaper that may be Hamas will start again in the holiday eve.
I knew I should not start again with that bad habit of reading the news paper.

  1. That olive tree must be quite ancient! Look at the gnarled trunk.
I do hope the beginning of the Jewish year begins calmly and continues in the same manner. Do you not think that newspapers thrive on sadness!? People appear to like reading bad news while good news goes unreported.

  2. Frankly I have been amazed that Hamas have been so well behaved recently. They've even admitted using schools as rocket launching sites; and apologised for it. Whatever next!

  3. Maybe after this short period of quiet both sides will consider more dialogue and less missiles, though I shan't be holding my breath. I have to agree with Shirlwin's comment about the media, I think it would be far better if the news was just reported with a neutral view and not sensensionalised to just shock and alarm folk.

  4. If your newspapers there are anything like the ones over here, they surely are only suitable for lining the bottom of the birdcage.

  7. It is a beautiful tree.
Hope that the peace you have been enjoying prevails well past your new year.
I don't buy a newspaper now, just watch TV news, which is nearly as bad with much emphasis on bad news.
